Election matters are usually managed by Electoral Management Board. The key players in the elections are the candidates and the electorates, while the election management body is the umpire. For election to be successful some indices must interplay. The absence of these factors to guarantee a universal standard calls for worry. The material ingredients that foster peaceful, fairness, credible and rancour-free elections are voters education, robust campaigns, transparency, well trained security agencies, trained electoral officers among others. It is imperative to interrogate Nigeria’s democracy, its fragility and fluctuation since independence. No doubt successive governments have struggled to create a sense of national unity. The first political party in Nigeria was the Nigeria National Democratic Party (NNDP). The party was active in Lagos to the point that the first election in Nigeria was on September 20, 1923, and it won three seats out of the four.

It is incumbent to deepen the broad base of our party, the All Progressive Congress (APC), to bringing on board reluctant party members, those sitting on the fence and other political party members through empirical persuasion. This is achievable by propagating the good work President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR is doing in our country. His good work has reinvigorated hope and built a stable economic growth. His courage in taking hard and far reaching decisions has brought economic prosperity to the country and if given a second term will truly take us to the Promised Land. To this end another four years will ensure total consolidation of the economic and developmental boom we are witnessing. To this effect we say “NO VACANCY IN ASO ROCK 2027!”.

 VISION STATEMENT

Leadership is the ability to take hard and uncomfortable decisions and stand by it; the capacity to turn wrong to positive and right to prosperity. A leader shows the light and the people follow.

Our vision is to sieve out the salient achievements of President Tinubu and make them known and bare to the Nigerians and the world at large. We shall dig out APC non active members, citizens sitting on the fence and convince other political party’s members to support our courageous President Tinubu.

OUR MISSION.

Our mission is to provide insightful solutions that will drive value for APC Presidential campaign and ensure success for the re-election of our hardworking and courageous president. We are resolved to bring about seamless electoral victory to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu come 2027 general election.

 BACKGROUND

The re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is certain if all hands are on deck. The president has done enough to qualify him for a second term but there is a groundswell of opposition both from within the party of members who may have lost out in this dispensation and the main opposition who are  coalescing to improve their chances of displacing our candidate. This must be resisted by all men and women of good conscience and should come out and work assiduously for our president’s re-election in 2027.

A multiparty system democracy is in vogue the world over, however, unpredictable for a returning candidate. In the year 2024, Africa had a busy calendar with 19 countries slated for presidential or general elections. Worthy of note, is that all these elections ran the gamut from competitive multiparty elections to perfunctory electoral exercises. Truly a series of elections in Southern Africa, where a single party has long dominated, obviously seen their first transition of power while others resulted in power sharing coalitions. Gain said this potentially reflected a healthy maturation of multipartyism while incentivising innovation.

As we believe that potentially the worst civilian rule is better than the best military rule, several of the Sahelian countries that suffered coups in recent years are scheduled to have elections this year as part of their agreed upon timetable to transit back to civilian rule. This underscores the potency of democracy and democratic governance.

Nigerian Presidential elections from 1999-2023 and votes cast

Number of registered voters at the elections in Nigeria between 1999-2023

YearRegistered Voters (Millions)
199957.94
200360.82
200761.82
201173.53
201567.42
201984.00
202396.30

With the table above, as of August 2022, an estimated 96.3 million people had registered to partake in the 2023 elections in Nigeria. This no doubt represented a significant rise in participation compared to the previous  voting years. For example, voter registrations in 2019 reached a total of 84 million continued the upward trend visible since 1999. The rise in 2023 was as a result of expectations of the people for paradigm shift from the status quo. This position will not be different from the next election of 2027 as the dust has started gathering for another yet 2023 perception.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

There are various problems associated with elections and re-elections. In the first instance the obligation of candidates and their supporters is to win and vote. This can be hampered by some exceptions or dynamics introduced prior, during, or after the voting, such as electoral violence, low voter turnout, voter suppression, and ethnic politics and religious politics.

There are also other militating factors against the incumbent such as the state of the economy, information misuse, human rights issues, hopelessness, insecurity and ineffective communication network. The prevalence of vote buying can be minimised if proper door to door campaign is achieved.

The core of responsibilities in re-election include planning voting operations, validating strong supporters and identifying who is eligible to vote and also push eligible voters to vote in favour of  Mr President.

The Renewed Hope Consolidation Mandate (TRHCM)  has analysed the voting pattern that will ensure landslide victory in 2027 and decided to come up with potent initiatives and action plan that President Tinubu’s election be won without stress.

In the light of the foregoing, some questions arose:

  1. How do we approach the re-election of our president?
  2. What are the challenges posed in a seamless victory?
  3. What is the methodology necessary in a consequential election of such a nature?
  4. What are the necessary measures that will give us resounding victory irrespective of merger by opposition political parties?
